Rotary Screw Theory of Compression
Rotary screw compressors are becoming more common throughout the natural gas gathering industry. As older fields experience declining reservoir pressure, many gatherers are opting to install rotary screw compressors as a first stage, to lower gathering system pressures without reconfiguring their existing reciprocating equipment. This course will explain the rotary screw compression process, the concepts of volume ratio and capacity control and their effect on the compression process.
