Category Title
Piping fatigue failure due to vibration is a significant integrity risk facing compressor stations and production facilities. This course provides guidance on how to manage this risk. A variety of field case studies are used to generate insights for the audience and provide a list of tips that can be used by industry. This course is intended for those involved in compressor/facility design, operations, maintenance, and integrity. It is not intended to be an advanced level class for vibration experts. Class interaction is encouraged. While pulsation, resonance, and surge studies address vibration issues around the gas compressor, there are many other vibration-induced risks on the balance of plant piping that require attention. These include transient vibration issues on gas, liquid, or multiphase flow lines in process and ancillary piping. The authors have significant vibration design & field experience from a wide range of applications including pipelines, gas storage, offshore facilities, and upstream compressors.
