What goes into a proper Safety Culture Assessment? API RP-1173 (Pipeline Safety Management Systems - PSMS) calls for Pipeline Operators to complete assessments of their safety culture. Many operators already complete safety surveys but most of these focus on occupational safety and not safety culture, which includes management systems and controls to address major hazard risks. Successfully completing a “Pipeline Safety Culture Assessment” can be complicated and time-consuming. This session will introduce you to the three components needed to effectively assess your safety culture as envisioned by RP-1173.
