Much emphasis is given today to conserving our precious resources. The consumption of oil compressor lubrication is and should be a major concern for each of us. In compressors, too little lubrication may cause rapid wear, scoring or failure of compressor cylinder components, and rod/packing failures. Too much lubrication allows excess oil to pass into the gas stream, reducing efficiency and causing after-compression oil problems and collection efforts. This short course gives insights into the design, delivery, lubricants, and application choices for both “older” and current type lubrication systems. As always, a better understanding of why and how systems work is the goal of this short course. We believe that in providing the attendees with these tools, their compressor lubrication systems will function at their peak of efficiency.
