Compressor Valves
The task of designing valves that will give the best compressor efficiency as well as good valve life and reliability is complex due to the wide range of possible applications. Among the factors that affect valve efficiency and life are the compressor speed, the operating pressures and temperatures, the gas molecular weight, the valve size, the cleanliness of the gas, the pulsation level and the amount and type of corrosives present. The valve designer must consider all these and other factors such as cost and maintainability when designing valves for a given application. The valves we will be considering are pressure operated valves designed for use in process, gas gathering and pipeline compressors.
