While typical gas transmission pipelines operate at pressures up to about 1500 psi, a number of applications in North America and Australia use or plan pipelines operating at significantly higher pressures. Often, these operations are referred to as dense phase. These are, in general, operating conditions above the critical pressure and temperature of the gas. Several existing installations are described and analyzed.
